Let's Collage!

Class Description

Unleash your creativity with "Let's Collage" at Open Studio Folk School! Discover the art of fabric collage quilting, where you’ll layer and fuse your vibrant fabric scraps onto a foundation panel to craft a stunning, unique image. Join us for a fun and inspiring experience that celebrates hands-on learning and artistic expression in a welcoming, noncompetitive environment! Students will learn different techniques for assembling a fabric collage including planning your project and techniques for shading. There is no right way or wrong way...only fun! This is a two day hands on workshop - bring your scraps and be willing to trade and share...your neighbor may have the perfect scrap for you...and you might have the perfect one for them! Patterns available will include your choice of a rooster, an owl, a chicken, a bear, a moose, a hummingbird with flower, a sun, a moon, a sunflower and a rabbit. If you wish to provide your own image, please contact the instructor. Students will need to supply their own scissors, glue stick, scraps and 3/4 yard of background fabric. Background fabrics will be discussed during the first day of class as there are many possibilities to create an eye catching background. Foundation fabric, fusible adhesive webbing, tule (optional) and patterns will be available for purchase from the instructor on the first day of class.
