Christmas Crackers
Class Description
Crackers are a British created in 1847 when confectioner Tom Smith saw sugared almonds wrapped in paper while on a trip to Paris. He began selling similar sweets in London wrapped in paper with love poems and riddles inside. Inspired by the crackling sparks of a log fire he added two strips of a chemically treated paper to make a crackling sound as the sweets were opened. Eventually small gifts replaced the sweets and paper crowns were added. Join us to make crackers a new tradition at your Christmas table. Small gifts to add to your cracker will be available for purchase during the class, or you may bring your own small gifts to add to your crackers. Gifts must easily fit into a 1.5 X 3 inch space. Class fee includes materials for 3 crackers (gifts not included). Materials to make additional crackers will be available for purchase during class.
